This Edensor Novel tells about the adventure of Ikal and Arai in Europe. After succeeding to get scholarship in France, they study at universite de Paris, Sorbone. There, Ikal and Arai have so many experiences that can be called the culture shock. There are so many customs of Europe that’s contradictive with the customs of their birth land, Belitong, Indonesia. They almost die because of the deathly cold in there. They have so many experiences with many kinds of teachers and friends. Ikal (Andrea Hirata) is ever loved by the most beautiful girl in there. He is very surprised because of the awkwardness of the girl because there are so many boys who try to be her boyfriend.
In this novel, Andrea Hirata tells also about the adventure of them to go along the edge of Europe with many kinds of astonishing, gripping, made ​​us roar with laughter, and also made ​​us in tears experiences. He with Arai have a trip to explore Europe and Africa. Become backpacker is very challenging.
            Edensor explains that our life is like pieces that bounded each other. And future is our dreams that become true. There are so many challenges to be faced to make us mature and know the meaning of this life.
