LIFE STORY OF AHMAD FUADI

Man Jadda Wajada is the great words of Ahmad Fuadi’s life. The meaning of this words is  where there’s a will, there’s a way. His name rose to popularity through his best seller novel “ Negeri 5 Menara” . This novel is the first book of a trilogy of his novel and was appointed to films in 2012. He also got Indonesia Readers Award . Ahmad Fuadi was born in a small village in the edge of Lake Maninjau, West Sumatra on December 30 1972. His mother was an elementary school teacher, and his father madrasah teachers.

He was graduated from Islamic Boarding School of Gontor Ponorogo, East Java. And continue his study in International Relationship at Padjadjaran University, Bandung.He ever joined Youth Exchange Program  in Quebec, Canada. In the end of his study in Bandung he also got the opportunity from SIF Fellowship  to study a semester in National University of Singapore. During his lecture he often wrote the article and sent it to several media mass. 
After graduation he accepted to be journalist of Tempo newspaper. A year later,  he went to Washinton DC with his wife for their  master degree. While lecture they became the correspondent of Tempo and  Voice of America  journalist. In 2004 he received a scholarship to study at Royal Holloway, University of London to the field of documentary film. He also ever became as director of communications in a conservation NGO: The Nature Conservancy.

Negeri 5 Menara published in 2009, is the first novel he wrote. The reason why he wrote novels, because they want to provide benefits to others, as the words is commonly taught in Islamic boarding school “Man Jadda Wajada”. His novel is very inspiring and gives the  positive influence to the reader, the story was adapted from his experience in boarding school life. After Negeri 5 Menara, Fuadi published a second novel the titled Ranah 3 Warna (2011), followed by Rantau 1 Muara which the third book of his trilogy.
